A conference is a meeting of people who “confer” about a topic. A professional conference is a meeting of professionals in a given subject or profession, dealing with organizational matters, matters concerning the status of the profession, and scientific or technical developments.
I consider these events important to network, learn and use them as indicators for the upcoming trends in the industry. My main topic of interest are: AUTOSAR Software, Multi-Core, Safety, Security, etc.
We have payed, marketing (sponsored), free and open type of conferences:
The favorite is the EMCC in Munich: http://www.multicore-conference.com/
Usually after the conference you get all the presentations and some extra material in digital formats.
With the busy world we are living in, attendance is not every time possible, (or the conference just has a too high fee 🙂 ) so here is what you can do to be up to date:
There are some conference organizers that upload the content (since it is good marketing material) to Youtube, like:

*Note : the cybersecurity presentations are really good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ihDHSgIlZc&list=PLckBNccEGHH_aC0B6fc0gVKMBLF79slDA
– ETAS: https://www.youtube.com/user/etasgroup/videos
Some conferences are funded with public resources, so the presented material is available to the public:

There was a time when the presentation material of the AUTOSAR Open Conferences was easily available for download, unfortunately after the website update they are not so easy to find them ( hence download them while you can! ) , but I had some bookmarked links:

Do you “follow” other conferences? What conference do you plan to attend this year?
